Vision Elevators can customise, modernise, or when necessary, replace existing lift systems within existing building parameters.


There are many factors which affect the operating life of lifts in general, among these are the frequency of use, conditions under which the unit is used (indoors/outdoors, goods/passengers etc), the quality and regularity of the maintenance services and of course the handling of the unit by the users/owners.


Complete lift modernisations include everything from supply, installation and the final commissioning. In addition, once commissioned, a comprehensive maintenance service can be undertaken which will include lift safety inspections, scheduled monthly maintenance and a 24 hour emergency service. Reasons for modernisation

In buildings where there is an existing lift, hoist or escalator it is important to consider the following key indicators which may point to the need to upgrade, either partially or fully:

  • The unit installed is over 20 years old
  • The frequency of breakdowns, call outs and repairs has increased significantly since the preceding year
  • The cost of the breakdowns, call outs and repairs has increased significantly
Upgrades available

Where a full modernisation is not commercially viable, we can carry out upgrades of certain key components to meet with current SA standards. A few examples are:

  • Tele-diallers for emergency communication
  • Rope replacements
  • Top of car Inspection units
  • Machine replacements
  • Door detectors for non-contact passenger protection
