WE GO FURTHER.

Where we come from

After graduating in 2002 with a degree in Financial Analysis, Nicholas Wareing founded Hands On Lifts (Cape).  From a small office in the back garden of his home, with the assistance of the family owned manufacturing facility in Durban. Within 4 years, the company had grown to employ 10 staff compliment with over 170 installations. His goal: to be known in South Africa as a Company that provides good quality, affordable products and to strive to do so with exceptional service.

In 2006, it was time to expand the product range offered to include Passenger Elevators and Escalators and start to compete directly with the Big Five of the Elevator Industry.  Vision Elevators was then born.  Successful negotiations with our Chinese suppliers, resulted in a sole agency for their product in Sub Saharan Africa.  Over the next 5 years Vision Elevators started to make its mark in the South Africa elevator industry with  over 300 installations completed nationwide and now with fully functioning offices in Durban and Johannesburg as well as representation in Bloemfontein, Knysna, Port Elizabeth and East London.

Future plans and current initiatives

Nicholas through his MBA studies has refocused the Vision Elevator business and has embarked on a number of initiatives to position Vision as leading mobility solutions in Africa, these initiatives have included:

Development of an apprenticeship program

Vision has been workplace approved to train apprentices in the Lift Mechanic Trade and we currently have 3 apprentices in their first and second year of the apprenticeship program. Please view our careers section of this site to see current opportunities available.

Sustainable development and BBBEE initiatives

We have become members of The Green Building Council and in so doing have pledged our commitment to sustainability. We will continue to look into further ways in which we can lessen our impact on the environment. Important too, in the South African arena is the presence of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment initiative. Since becoming a measurable entity, we have scored a Level 4 Status in the QSE Scorecard for 2009 and have bettered this with a Level 3 Status in the current year.
